TESTIMONIALS FROM FRIENDS & FAMILIES

From Barbara Deaver-

“Cole has been awarded a Dean’s Scholarship to LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. It is their 2nd highest of 5 levels of academic scholarships offered. Cole would not be receiving this scholarship if he had not had your help. With your help, and irreplaceable support, he has come a very long way from that shy little 3rd grader, who 9 years ago, could barely read at all. Due to the “efficiency” of our “certified” public school system, 9 years ago the “professional educators” were trying to brand Cole as “learning disabled”. Do his grades in high school and Midland College (5 straight A’s) show any trace of a defective intellect? Do his SAT scores demonstrate that being taught at home by parents has deprived Cole of the academic tools he will need to succeed in college and beyond? I don’t really think so. If you ever have a prospective client ask for a recommendation from a satisfied customer, show them this letter!”

Thank you for your enthusiastic support. We are so proud of Cole, and know that Teamwork is one of the main reasons for his success.

From Phyllis Orth- This is Nathan’s final report card. He has completed all his courses, worked hard, and ended early. He did very well on his ACT, (scored a 32), and his SAT, (1340 was his score). He is listed in Who’s Who among American High School Students 2003-2004. He will be attending Carroll College in Waukesha, WI this fall. He received the Carroll Trustee Scholarship, and Garfield/Kennan History Scholarship.

We are very pleased with how Nathan has matured, how hard he has worked, and what he has accomplished. We wish to thank you for your service to our home school. The need for transcripts and a credited diploma are truly priceless….

- Congratulations, Nathan on your awesome accomplishments. We are so proud of you, and excited for all God has in store for you.

From Mary Batson-

I hope you can use this in your newsletter or from some encouragement to someone.

Summit has been a really good thing for us. This is our second time graduating a student with you, and though we had been using another Christian curriculum, John remembered what Summit had been like for Holly (’97) and requested that he do his last two years of high school from Summit also. Here’s why it was an answer to a real need in our situation: John is a quick learner, and has a strong need to be active and moving, like most 17 yr. olds. Using your curriculum gave him more independence and self- responsibility that he would have had otherwise, because the format is so easily understood. The Lifepacs gave him a sense of achievement as he “knocked them off” one by one, until he was up to the tenth, the review Lifepac. Summit was so helpful in giving us guidelines to be able to utilize the time he was already putting into community service as a volunteer fireman, as well as working some in his Dad’s fishing business and the town hardware store. It was great being able to use his activity in the youth symphony and music lessons as a high school credit.

For me, the clarity of the directions given regarding high school requirements was great. But the best part, truly, was whenever I needed to call, there was a LIVE person on the other end, kind and helpful and reassuring, no matter what. I never waited long for a call back whenever I missed Sharon or had to leave a message.

You all have been great. We praise God for the Christian folks He has given to minister for Him in the way you have.

The Williams Family- (Summit On-Line School)-Lanarca, Cyprus: It is amazing we have almost completed our fourth year with Summit. The girls have enjoyed their studies, and have progressed well in their personal developments. I appreciate the school and the teachers that you and your staff have put into place.

From Donald McQuisten- our 64 year old graduate!

“Don is very happy that he is getting a diploma. People have told him he would never get it done. He has told me that he has regretted quitting school and not finishing. He said that he couldn’t have done it without Summit’s help and support.” Don, we are so proud of you. Your commitment to reaching your goal to earn your High School diploma has been an inspiration to us. May God bless you and your sweet wife.

From Diana Fife-

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how pleased we have been with your program, the Alpha Omega curriculum, and your personnel during our home school experience. We were skeptical about starting Missy in a homeschool situation as Junior in High School, but SCA has made the effort almost painless. We feel that academically Missy achieved better results, retained more information she was exposed to, and learned how to make it on her own.

You may remember that our objective in the home schooling effort was to give Missy time to acquire strong academic skills while having time to pursue gymnastics scholarship. We were excited last week when Missy was offered a gymnastics scholarship to Texas Women’s University. Missy will study Kinesiology while competing with the number one ranked Division II team in the nation.”

From Pamela Woodcock-

“We have really been pleased with Janice’s high school curriculum. It has been exciting for her to have six colleges to choose from- also a difficult choice. She has it narrowed down to either the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, or the University of South Florida at Tampa. Thank you for all your help with Janice’s education.

From Larry Hammonds-

“Joshua’s progress has been great to watch. Up until 4 years ago, he was not a happy student nor was he very interested in learning because of the public school system. Today his test scores rate in the top five percent in the country for his age. He enjoys reading and has become very knowledgeable, especially in the field of computers. He has moved from being a part-time computer consultant to working full-time for a large electronics and computer company. He enjoys a great reputation and will be moving into management soon. All of this was possible because of home schooling. Joshua’s future looks bright. He is committed to sharing his faith and has a basis for living a successful life. We owe you many thanks.

From Margaret Sajuin-

To Whom It May Concern: I’m writing to thank Summit Christian Academy, and all of its helpful staff members for being a blessing in my life. I went to private school last year, and as some of you know, didn’t exactly do my best. From the second I started your home study program I showed great improvement. As a matter of fact, your program is so great and inspiring to me, that I now have incentive to continue my education after graduation this month. Because of the flexibility of home study, I have extra time to pursue my one true love of performance. I have been recently accepted into a talent and modeling agency, and have done wonderfully in pageants and talent shows. From my previous lack of interest in school, (or anything, really!), many people had no faith in my success. But I feel it was from your program, that I’m doing great. I am able to balance schooling, work, performance, and still have time to go out and have fun. As of right now, my lowest grade is a B+, and that’s in Trig! I have been working extra hard to complete the program, so that I can get started in working full time to save money for college in the fall. I am able to complete a whole Lifepac a day. Well, anyhow, once again you all have been very helpful, in my growth spiritually, academically, and even successfully. I thank you so much for being a light in my life, and giving me hope for the future and everything it holds for me.

From the Crotteau Family-

Simone continues to enjoy homeschooling. She is challenged in ways that she was not in public school, and is thinking rather than regurgitating information. She is also learning how to study for tests.
